The tutorial covers how to handle controls as well as how to use the write mode effectively and responsibly (no suggestive material or vulgarity) but not how to think through solutions. Even if they don't arrive at the "best" answer, if their chosen object works, they can solve the puzzle and move to the next. They can summon an ax and chop the tree down, or create a ladder to climb it, or type in "jetpack" to fly to retrieve it. For example, in one puzzle, players need to get a star off a tree. Kids type in words to conjure up objects, then use those objects to solve the puzzle. The app presents a variety of colorful, brainteasing puzzles. A uniquely open-ended experience, Scribblenauts Remix allows kids to imagine solutions and try them out by spelling out solution words. Scribblenauts Remix could be great springboard for kids to create their own puzzles complete with scenarios, hints, and a library of objects.
